Job summary

Lake Washington School District is seeking a paraeducator for the Transition Room at Rose Hill Middle School for the 2026-2027 year. The position follows a 180-day working calendar with a 6-hour day starting at 7:50am.

The role supports teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical, behavioral, or medical needs, assisting with daily living and behavioral skills, and helping with classroom setup and material storage. Union eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• Must hold an AA or higher, or two years of college (72 quarter credits), or pass ParaPro with 455+, or pass Paraprofessional with 220+.
• Official documentation required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical, behavioral, or medical needs.
• Support students' health care needs and help develop daily living and behavioral skills.
• Assist staff with classroom preparation, equipment storage, and retrieval.
• May supervise students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, playgrounds, or while getting on/off a bus.

Education

Associate degree (AA) or higher OR two years of college (72 quarter credits) OR ParaPro/Paraprofessional assessment passed
