Colorado Springs School District 11 Stratton Elementary seeks an Educational Support Professional: Paraeducator I, SPED, to support students under a certified teacher, reinforcing learning and developmental skills in PreK-12.

The role requires collaboration, IEP implementation, behavior support, preparation of instructional materials, attendance, and documentation. This is a 0.88 FTE, 184-day, non-exempt position paying $17.75–$21.20 per hour and starts immediately.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional and behavioral support in special education settings
• Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications
• Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities
• Behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Data collection, progress monitoring, and compliance
• Classroom routines and assistive/educational technology

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support to students under the direction of a certified teacher.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies aligned with IEP goals.
• Monitor, document, and report student progress and behavior; maintain records aligned with IEPs and Medicaid where applicable.
• Support classroom operations by preparing instructional materials, assisting with assessments, attendance, and related paperwork.
• Assist students with routines, transitions, independence, and daily activities.
• Promote a positive, structured learning environment by reinforcing behavior plans and social-emotional skills.
• Supervise students across settings including classroom, playground, lunchroom, field trips, and more.
• Perform clerical tasks: data entry, filing, copying, laminating, inventory, and ordering supplies.
