Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Experience in a special education setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Provides/adjusts classroom activities under the supervision of licensed staff (reinforcement of IEP goals, etc.).
• Monitors student work, scores papers, and oversees assessments as assigned.
• Serves as a resource for substitute teachers in the absence of regular licensed staff.
• May substitute for absent teachers with pay differential per contract.
• Performs clerical, classroom, and instructional duties as assigned by licensed staff.
• Alerts staff to problems or special information about individual students.
• Supervises students during lunch, play periods, and field trips.
• Performs non-instructional duties such as snack time, toileting, and clothing routines.

Education
