Job summary

LEBHART ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Cheyenne, Wyoming, seeks a Paraeducator – Special Education to support students with IEPs under a certified teacher. This position requires assisting in classrooms, adapting activities, and collaborating with staff to promote inclusive learning.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day, 10 months, with a 188‑day salary schedule. Wages start at $16.52 per hour, plus benefits. Prior experience in special education is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ,
• Experience working with school age children preferred.
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and reach academic goals.
• Provide feedback and maintain records on student progress as required.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement IEP objectives and accommodations.
• Monitor and supervise students in multiple settings to ensure safety and positive behavior.
• Assist with classroom tasks, materials management and clerical duties.
• Support other staff as needed and respond to emergencies to maintain safety.
