Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking Classroom Para Educators to assist teachers in delivering high-quality education across diverse classrooms in Western Massachusetts. You will support instruction, prepare materials, and help manage classroom behavior under the supervision of school staff.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED; preferred degrees and Work Keys scores; experience with special education is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred Associate degree or 60 college credits; BA with Educator Licensure preferred.
• Experience with special education settings is preferred.
• Passing scores on Work Keys exams (Reading 5, Math 4, Writing 3).

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually or in small groups.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities and supervision.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
