Job summary

Alpine School District in Utah seeks a Special Education Para-Educator III- EBD to support instructional programs under the direction of an assigned teacher. You will assist in instruction, behavior support, and supervision of students with special needs, and participate in IEP-related activities.

Qualifications

• Age 16+ required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job-related experience is desired.
• Specific training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Communicates with supervising staff to assist in evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans and interventions designed by IEP team.
• Monitors students in various school environments to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Provides instruction to students in various activities to reinforce objectives and IEP plans.
• Assists students with self-care activities.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs as needed to assist students.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for mandated requirements.
• Attends meetings and in-service trainings related to job functions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
