Job Title: Special Education Management (SuccessEd) Clerk

JOB GOAL: To facilitate the efficient operation of the special education department and provide student caseload services for the special education staff.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY: In accordance with the annual salary schedule approved by the Management Board of the Freestone-Navarro Bi-County Coop. At will position. 11 months/202 days per year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient skills in typing, word process, and basic functions of Word and Excel.

Preference will be given to applicants with a high degree of personal communication skills.

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Performs the usual special education routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly run special education department.
• Assures that student eligibility folders are complete.
• Assures confidentiality of folders and student information at all times.
• Keeps informed of and complies with federal, state, district and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
• Keeps informed of Special Education Management Software Systems and Laserfische updates.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

SCHOOL CLIMATE:

• Relate to staff, students, and parents in ways that convey equality, mutual respect and concern.

STUDENT MANAGEMENT:

• Demonstrate sensitivity to the concerns and needs of students and their parents.
• Monitor students records to insure the ARD recommendations are being followed.

• Continue to develop skills appropriate to the job assignment.
• Maintain mental and physical ability to perform job functions.
