Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a MultiAbilities Classroom (MAC) Teacher at Timber Trails Elementary in Hoffman Estates, IL. The MAC teacher provides instruction and support for students with significant academic, communication and behavioral needs in a highly structured self-contained setting.

Responsibilities include designing scaffolded instruction, collaborating with related service providers, and maintaining IEP compliance.

Qualifications

Illinois LBS1 licensure is required.
Experience in a self-contained MAC setting preferred.
Knowledge of data collection and progress monitoring.
Ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver MAC instruction aligned to the curriculum and grade standards.
Develop and implement evidence-based academic, behavioral, and social programming.
Create a predictable, supportive classroom environment promoting engagement.
Use data to guide instruction and communicate progress to families and staff.
Collaborate with related service providers and school teams for coordinated support.
Serve as case manager for students and complete IEP paperwork.
Attend IEP and service team meetings and other required staffings.
Provide guidance to paraeducators and ensure consistent instruction.
Implement positive behavior supports consistent with MAC guidance.
Support students across settings including community-based activities as needed.
Maintain records and meet timelines for documentation and reporting.
