Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools in Washington state is seeking a licensed Special Education teacher for a 1.0 FTE position. The teacher will plan, deliver and assess instruction, maintain records, and collaborate with staff to support student growth and achievement in a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with an appropriate educational endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers a program of study meeting students' needs and aligns with district goals.
• Assesses student growth and provides progress reports; assigns grades as required.
• Supports district policies and curriculum; manages classroom behavior and learning environment.
• Prepares lesson plans and differentiates instruction to meet diverse learners.
• Establishes effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues; conducts conferences.
• Maintains accurate records and uses data to adjust instruction; follows district rubrics.
• Supervises students to ensure safety and supports school activities.
