Job summary

Franklin Public Schools on Washington Street seeks a Special Education Liaison for Grade 3 at the Washington 3-5 School. The teacher will deliver academic support in general classrooms and provide small-group and pull-out instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Candidates must hold a Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs, preferably a Master’s degree, and have strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills with families and staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs through DESE
  • Wilson/OG training/certification preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required
  • Experience in public school setting
  • Able to take initiative and work independently

Responsibilities

  • Plan for effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs
  • Administer formal diagnostic assessments and three-year reevaluations
  • Monitor progress and benchmark systems
  • Schedule and attend Team meetings for caseload students
  • Write comprehensive progress reports
  • Collaborate with general education staff on accommodations and modifications
  • Communicate regularly with families of students on caseload
  • Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals
  • Work with special education team to improve supports and programming
