Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Job Coach to support students with disabilities in school- and community-based work experiences as described in their IEPs. You will provide direct supervision, job- specific instruction, and ongoing support to help students develop vocational, employment, independent living, and workplace readiness skills.

This temporary, part-time role will not exceed 29 hours per week and ends by June 4, 2027.

Qualifications

• Supports students with disabilities during school- and community-based work experiences as outlined in IEPs.
• Provides direct supervision and job-specific instruction to students.
• Monitors progress toward IEP transition goals and documents performance.

The Special Education Job Coach provides additional adult assistance in supporting students with disabilities during school- and community-based work experiences as outlined in the transition plans of students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Job Coaches provide direct supervision, job-specific instruction, and ongoing support to help students develop vocational, employment, independent living, and workplace readiness skills.
