Job summary

Achieve Beyond in New York State is seeking a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher to provide one-on-one instruction to children ages 3 to 5 in CPSE programs across Suffolk County. The role offers flexible scheduling, travel to assigned cases, and collaboration with a team of clinical supervisors and administrative staff.

You will educate families on intervention strategies, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, and prepare progress reports within program timelines while upholding

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS certification/licensure as listed.
• Experience with CPSE programs and early childhood settings.
• Willingness to travel to assigned cases using a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program.
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies.
• Work in diverse settings such as homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluations and progress reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and submit records to agency within deadlines.

Job Responsibilities For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
• Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification
• Permanent Special Education Certification
• TSHH Permanent Certification
• TSLD Initial or Professional Certification
• NYS Licensed Master Social Worker
• NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

StartingRate: hourly $65-68. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during theSpecial Education Itinerant Teacherinterview process.
