Job summary

Achieve Beyond in Suffolk, NY is hiring a Special Education Itinerant Teacher to support children with special needs across home, clinic, and community settings. This role offers a flexible schedule and collaboration with a dedicated clinical team.

Starting pay is $65.00–$68.00 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401k. NYS certification/licensure is required, and experience in SEIT is preferred. Travel among Nassau and Suffolk counties is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS certifications/licenses listed in posting.
• Self-motivation and teamwork essential.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 in the CPSE program.
• Educate families on intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in homes, family day care homes, daycare centers and other community settings.
• Maintain accurate service records; submit evaluations and progress reports on time.
• Prepare progress reports per program timelines; maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.

Job Responsibilities For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements For a Special Education Itinerant Teacher

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
• Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification
• Permanent Special Education Certification
• TSHH Permanent Certification
• TSLD Initial or Professional Certification
• NYS Licensed Master Social Worker
• NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

StartingRate: hourly $65-68. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during theSpecial Education Itinerant Teacherinterview process.
