Job summary

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a special education teacher and principal. The position operates 6.5 hours daily (7:45 am–2:45 pm), 186 days a year, during a 10-month calendar.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, documenting student progress, maintaining records, and assisting with transportation and inclusive class activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Must enjoy working with children.

Responsibilities

• Participate in implementing each student’s educational program as outlined in their IEP.
• Document information regarding students’ needs, strengths, gains and problem areas.
• Assist in maintaining student records and distributing/collecting student work.
• Follow behavior support plans and assist with daily living activities as needed.
• Escort and supervise students during meals, gym, assemblies and field trips.
• Assist students with inclusive education modifications under teacher guidance.
• Help with educational technology and attend IEP/Evaluation meetings.
