Job summary

MSD of Warren Township in Indianapolis, IN seeks an Instructional Assistant for the Special Education self-contained LIFE program. This non-exempt, hourly role follows the 180-school-year schedule with 7 hours per day, excluding a 30-minute unpaid meal break.

Starting pay is $17.14 per hour and benefits eligibility applies after 90 days. You will support students with disabilities under the supervision of teachers, help create an inclusive classroom, and assist with data collection and

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Associates degree or 60 semester hours preferred.
Must meet paraprofessional requirements (ParaPro) and clear background checks.
Experience with school-age children with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs.
Assist students with academic, organization, and communication skills.
Support students in completing tasks in classroom, cafeteria, and school settings.
Implement behavior plans under guidance of teachers and IEPs.
Assist with daily living activities and personal care needs as appropriate.
Collaborate with teachers to prepare instructional materials and adapt curricula.
Track student progress and document data for IEP meetings.
