Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, a division of ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, is hiring an Instructional Aide to support students in Grades K-12 within the Special Education team. The role focuses on implementing IEPs, supporting classroom instruction, and fostering essential skills in a collaborative setting.

You will work closely with teachers to monitor progress, apply targeted strategies, and maintain confidentiality while contributing to accreditation and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Valid CA state driver\'s license or ability to obtain.
• Comfortable driving in a company van with students.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
• Paraprofessional or related credential preferred.
• Experience in instruction/support to children, esp. in special education or behavioral health.
• Experience with learning disabilities/autism/ED.
• Strong oral and written communication, organization, problem solving.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, instructional tech, and basic office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to cultivate a supportive learning environment.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and tailoring instruction.
• Instruct and monitor students during lessons and apply targeted strategies.
• Track progress and communicate with teachers about students' progress.
• Manage student behavior in line with school policies.
• Support development of community, vocational, social, and academic skills.
• Document behaviors and performance; report observations and recommendations.
• Prepare behavioral reports and daily activity logs.
• Communicate with students, families, and staff; maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in accreditation activities and meetings.
• Respond to feedback and perform additional duties as needed.
