Job summary

Hamilton Southeastern High School is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Special Education. reports to the principal and classroom teacher, assisting with instruction, following lesson plans, and supervising students in various settings including cafeteria, bus, field trips, and off-site activities.

The role requires paraprofessional qualifications per No Child Left Behind: AA degree, 48 college credits, or ParaPro exam, with strong communication and teamwork skills to support students’ IEP/504

Qualifications

• AA degree or two years of college (48 credits) or pass ParaPro exam.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work well with staff and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Aid teacher in performing duties and follow lesson plans with fidelity.
• Supervise and support students during assigned duties inside and outside classroom.
• Assist with data collection for student academic and behavior goals.
• Follow daily schedule and crisis de-escalation as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by principal or Teacher of Record.
