Denver Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Specialist to improve student achievement by providing individualized support to schools, and by designing and leading district professional learning around special education.

You will advise schools on IDEA compliance and partner with district leaders to improve graduation outcomes and transition planning, while coaching staff on effective supports and services.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related Bachelor's Degree is required
• Master's Degree preferred
• Four (4+) years teaching experience with at least two years of coaching other teachers
• Active Colorado Department of Education Special Education Teacher or Related Services License is required
• Willing to travel to sites throughout the District
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado

Responsabilidades

• Improve student achievement by providing individualized support to schools and designing and leading district special education professional learning
• Advise schools on all legal requirements related to IDEA and support districtwide programs and services
• Partner with Directors of Schools and district partners to improve graduation outcomes and transition planning
• Provide consultation, coaching, and professional learning on FAPE, IDEA safeguards, and behavior supports
