Job summary

Chicago Public Schools in Chicago is seeking a Parent Involvement Specialist to coordinate and support family engagement for students with disabilities. Reporting to the Manager, Academic Access, you will train parents and district staff and help craft parent-facing information for CPS communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience supporting parents of students with disabilities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and Illinois special education laws and CPS policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide workshops and training to parents and educators of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with an advisory committee to improve special education programs.
• Attend local advisory boards to communicate with parents at the local level.
• Develop needs assessments to guide parent involvement efforts.
• Collect and analyze parent involvement data to link to outcomes.
• Establish partnerships with advocacy agencies to support families.
