Job summary

The Exploris School in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Exceptional Children’s (Special Education) Teacher for our K-8 program. The role involves co-teaching with general education colleagues, supporting in resource settings, and managing a caseload of 12-18 students.

Qualifications

• Licensed North Carolina teacher with eligibility for EC instruction.
• Experience with Exceptional Children (EC) services and IEPs preferred.
• Familiar with project-based and constructivist teaching approaches.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Eligibility and IEP meetings per NC policies.
• Deliver specialized instruction in inclusion and pull-out settings.
• Evaluate progress toward IEP and personal goals.
• Communicate with families, teachers, and service providers.
• Maintain up-to-date records and progress notes.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams to review progress.
• Modify assessments for students with special needs.
• Plan with a team of teachers and specialists (SLP, OT).
• Supervise EC TAs and ensure service delivery hours meet IEPs.
• Attend weekly staff and MTSS meetings.
