Job summary

The Office of Public Instruction in Montana seeks a Special Education Data & Accountability Specialist to oversee complex data reporting aligned with federal and state mandates. You will manage, transform, and retrieve data for EDFacts, SPP, APR, and other public reporting requirements, ensuring records across schools connect smoothly.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field.
• At least three years of demonstrated experience in; data administration, requirements analysis, metadata development and/or project analysis.
• Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

Responsibilities

• Execute policies and standards for the Special Education Unit.
• Oversee data collection and reporting infrastructure for SIS integration.
• Manage, manipulate and retrieve data for EDFacts, SPP, APR and other reports.
• Work with Data Operations to map data and ensure valid, timely collection.
• Perform root cause analysis to drive improvements in student outcomes.
