Job summary

Public Schools of Robeson County Central Office in Lumberton, NC is seeking an Exceptional Children's Program Specialist to oversee compliance and lead EC services. This full-time role reports to the Director of Exceptional Children and starts immediately.

Qualifications

• Licensure in Special Education and knowledge of IDEA and federal laws.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Five or more years of experience teaching exceptional children.
• Knowledgeable of IDEA and applicable federal regulations.
• Ability to collaborate with EC staff and school administrators.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor the EC compliance program and ensure 90-day timelines are met.
• Participate in EC trainings and related audits.
• Review student records for compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Report noncompliance and implement corrective action plans.
• Attend IEP meetings as LEA designee and coordinate with schools.
• Coordinate data gathering for CIPP and participate in EC Steering Committee.
