Job summary

Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies seeks an Exceptional Children's Teacher Assistant in Elizabeth City, NC. This 10-month, full-time temporary role supports students with IEP/504/Medical plans, assists teachers, and helps maintain a positive learning environment.

The candidate will develop skills and behaviors to promote academic and personal growth, work alongside licensed professionals, and help with clerical tasks and off-site instructional activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent course hours.
• Two years of experience working with school-aged children.
• Training provided to high-potential candidates.

Responsibilities

• Builds rapport and trust with students to support successful goal completion.
• Assists coaches with executing academic, behavioral, vocational, and life-skill instruction and evaluating its effectiveness.
• Provides one-on-one assistance as needed.
• Maintains documentation concerning the progress of students.
• Performs clerical duties such as grading, attendance, and preparing instructional materials.
• Carries out therapeutic regimens under direction of licensed professionals.
