Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Experience: Classroom setting or work with children.
• Licenses or Certifications: Willingness to pursue Special Education certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under guidance.
• Help implement Individual Education Plans and monitor progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with professionals (speech therapist, social worker, therapists).
• Assist teachers with maintaining student records.
• Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and help develop social skills.
• Assist with daily living activities as needed in Life Skills units.
• Occasionally accompany students on school bus trips before/after school.
