Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools in Germantown, TN seeks a paraeducator to assist special education teachers in instructing and supervising activities for students with disabilities. You will help prepare instructional materials and classrooms, supervise students in various settings, and reinforce classroom lessons while providing other needed support.

The role may involve coordinating special projects and programs as assigned. CPR and First Aid certification are preferred or must be obtained.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree or two years of college (min 48 semester hours) required.
Passing score on ParaPro Assessment Test preferred.
Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
Certification in CPR and First Aid required or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

Assist special education teachers in instructing and supervising activities of students with disabilities to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment.
Prepare instructional materials and classrooms for activities.
Supervise and assist children in the classroom and in other areas of the school, reinforcing lessons.
Provide other assistance as requested; may coordinate special projects/programs as assigned.
