Job summary

Long Beach Unified School District seeks an Instructional Aide - Special substitute or 3.8‑hour part‑time employee to reinforce instruction for students with IEPs. You will assist certificated staff, monitor student behavior, and help with health and hygienic tasks under supervision.

Position offers entry through substitutes with potential for 6‑hour assignments. Training in ADA-compliant care and bilingual duties may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Must meet the minimum education standards listed (two years of college or an AA/higher).
• Ability to assist certificated staff and reinforce instructional activities.
• Experience with students with special needs is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff to plan instructional activities.
• Tutor individuals or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor and record student progress and behavior.
• Provide hygiene assistance and basic health support to students.
• Support students during field trips and non-classroom activities.
