Job summary

CSIU's Classroom Assistant position supports the Special Education Teacher in instructional and non-instructional tasks at the Diversified Treatment Alternatives Center, 148 Fairfield Road, Lewisburg, PA.

This is a full-time non-tenured role on an 185-day schedule. A high school diploma or GED is required; RBT certification is preferred or may be required. Strong communication, teamwork, FERPA compliance, and flexibility with student needs are essential.

Qualifications

• High School/Trade School degree or GED required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and schedules.
• Registered Behavioral Technician certification preferred or required if serving in RBT capacity.

Responsibilities

• Performs instructional and non-instructional activities as assigned by the teacher and program supervisor.
• Supervises pupils in the school and the community, as assigned.
• Utilizes positive behavior support strategies to manage student behavior.
• Collaborates with the IEP team to develop educational programs directed toward development of academic, communication and social/emotional skills.
• Maintains updated records and completes paperwork including progress monitoring.
