Job summary

Birch Agency in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, in-person role focuses on due process, compliance, and case management to support students with diverse learning needs within a school team.

The ideal candidate will hold Minnesota licensure in Special Education, have experience with IEPs and meetings, and collaborate with families, administrators, and related services to ensure high-quality services and district policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License.
• Previous school-based special education experience.
• Strong knowledge of due process procedures and compliance.
• Experience managing IEP timelines, meetings, documentation.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Serve as primary case manager for assigned students.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
• Facilitate IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and team conferences.
• Maintain compliance with IDEA and Minnesota regulations.
• Manage due process timelines and documentation.
• Collaborate with administrators, service providers, teachers, and families.
• Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies.
• Advocate for student success while maintaining procedural integrity.
