Job summary

Summit Public Schools in California seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Case Manager) to join our project-based learning community. You will collaborate with grade teams, design and monitor IEPs, provide accommodations, and lead IEP meetings, while ensuring progress for a diverse caseload.

The role requires a California teaching credential and a Bachelor's degree, with opportunities for growth within a values-driven, college-prep environment and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Commitment to upholding Summit’s values and equitable education.
• Teaching Credential in California, Washington, or another US state.
• Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree in Education preferred.
• Clear health and background check.
• Experience with California’s SEIS system preferred.
• Experience writing state-compliant IEPs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design and implementation of accommodated instruction and IEP goals.
• Facilitate IEP-based instruction in a resource room setting.
• Provide case management for a caseload of students.
• Consult with general education teachers to adjust core curriculum and instruction.
• Collaborate with school staff, related service providers and parents.
• Lead the development and design of IEPs, including facilitating meetings.
• Administer and interpret academic diagnostic assessments.
• Create and maintain notifications, records, and reports as required.
• Maintain knowledge of current regulations pertaining to diverse learners.
• Participate in professional development and collaboration across Summit network.
