Chicago Public Schools seeks a Case Manager to coordinate special education services under IDEA and Section 504. The role focuses on district representation, meeting coordination, and ensuring timely evaluations and placements for students with disabilities.

The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in special education or a Master’s in educational administration, plus a valid PEL in relevant areas and 2+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in special education or Master’s in educational administration.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or School Support Personnel with supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Knowledge of IDEA and Section 504; CPS procedures knowledge.
• Ability to coordinate meetings, prepare IEP/504 materials, and communicate with families.

Responsibilities

• Serve as district representative at IDEA/504 meetings.
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and act as District Representative.
• Ensure timelines for evaluations and placements are met.
• Coordinate referrals for FIE and related assessments.
• Ensure data entry into SSM and collaborate with staff.
• Provide staff training on IDEA and 504 requirements.
