Anser Charter School is hiring behavior interventionists that have:

We are recruiting part‑time positions. Final schedules will be drawn up when candidates are offered a position. A successful candidate will work with students in grades K‑8.

Salary & Benefits

This position pays $16–$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Eligibility for retirement and health benefits is determined by the number of hours worked per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Continually supervise assigned students to ensure a safe, non‑threatening, nurturing environment where students can thrive. Instruct them on appropriate behavior.
• Attend to students’ physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs including but not limited to assistive technology devices.
• Supervise students during lunch or recess, as well as in between classes or on field trips.
• Support teachers in meeting the instructional, educational, behavioral, and social‑emotional needs of students with disabilities in the classroom.
• Provide small‑group and/or individualized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with the students’ IEP and the supervising teacher’s lesson plans.
• Collect instructional and behavioral data for all objectives being taught for each student.
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans for students with disabilities.
• Engage in monthly training and professional learning opportunities in person.
• Work under the supervision and guidance of the Special Education Department and/or Behavior Intervention Specialist.
• Be evaluated by the Exceptional Child Services Director.
• Possess strong collaboration skills, communicate proactively, and participate as a member of an innovative and creative team open to ideas that best meet the needs of students.
• Share responsibility for accomplishing goals, attending faculty and committee meetings as required and/or needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on‑site, in person during regular business hours.

Qualifications

1. Idaho Standard Instruction Certificate meeting the qualifications for an endorsement specific to special education as defined in IDAPA 08.02.02 OR Habilitative Intervention Certificate of Completion (HI COC) in Idaho prior to July 1, 2019 and no more than a 3‑year gap of employment as an intervention specialist OR Bachelor’s degree in a human services field* OR Bachelor’s degree and 24 semester credits in a human services field*.
2. Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents in a behavior setting.
3. Emotionally mature and stable.
4. Pass a criminal history background check.
5. Able to perform assigned tasks.
6. Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Human services field includes: Human Service, Family Relations/Family and Child Services, Counseling (General, MH, Vocational, Pastoral, Rehabilitation) and Guidance, Psychology, Nursing, Education/Special Education, Sociology, Child Development/Human Development, Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Marriage and Family Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology/Communication Disorders, Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, Music Therapy, Behavioral Sciences/ABA.
