Job summary

Waukee Community School District in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Special Education Associate for Waterford Elementary. The role supports teachers by reinforcing content, assisting with small groups, and aiding with behavior plans. Full-time hours are 7 hours 10 minutes per day, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.

Qualifications

• Experience as an associate preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material or skills.
• Assist teacher in devising strategies to reinforce material based on student needs.
• Support generalization of skills in an integrated setting.
• Demonstrate effective communication and collaborative skills.
• Support PBIS for all students in all settings.
• Assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, field trips and activities.
• Read to students, listen to reading, and participate in oral activities.
