Job summary

Manville School/Baker Center for Children and Families in Boston, MA is seeking a Special Education Assistant Teacher for a 10‑month, full‑time onsite role. You will support students with special needs, assist in curriculum delivery, and collaborate with educators on behavior management and individualized plans.

The position offers supervision from an educational supervisor and classroom teacher, with mentoring and professional development opportunities in a trusted educational/mental health

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
• Experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a classroom setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
• First Aid/CPR and Physical Restraint trainings required or ability to participate in annual training at beginning of employment and annually or as needed throughout tenure.
• Cover letter and a recent resume required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements individualized and small group lessons in specific curriculum areas under supervision.
• Develops and implements classroom behavior management plan appropriate to students' age and social/emotional level.
• Participates in daily classroom operation, including academic instruction and management.
• Learns and applies effective behavior management techniques aligned with school-wide model.
• Writes Quarterly Progress Reports based on IEPs for students.
