The Baker Center for Children and Families (Judge Baker Children's Center) seeks an Assistant Teacher, Special Education, to provide academic and behavioral support in Middle/High School settings in Boston. This full-time, 10-month position offers training and supervision under an experienced educational team.

Responsibilities include delivering targeted instruction, supporting lesson delivery, implementing behavior plans, and documenting progress for IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required.
• Experience with children with special needs, preferably in a classroom setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
• First Aid/CPR and Physical Restraint trainings is required or ability to participate in annual training at beginning of employment and annually or as needed throughout tenure.

Responsabilités

• Provide academic and behavioral support to students while carrying out curriculum instruction within the classroom under supervision.
• Assist in implementing lessons and tailoring instruction to meet students’ learning needs and behavioral profiles.
• Participate in developing and applying classroom behavior management plans with the team.
• Prepare and write progress reports based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
