Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) seeks an assistant teacher to support diverse K-12 learners in in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will collaborate with the teacher to deliver individualized instruction, monitor student progress, and reinforce learning through SESI's CASE framework. Starting pay is USD $20.00 per hour, with paid training, tuition reimbursement, credentialing support, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse student groups and support individualized instruction.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction implementing the SESI rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support.
• Reinforce learning with task assignments and data-driven materials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities and grading.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation, crisis management, and safety procedures.
• Support daily plans and track student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during transitions.
• Collaborate with other teachers and related service providers.

Education

High school diploma
