Job summary

The Seattle Public Schools are seeking a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support students with special needs in both regular and self-contained classrooms. You will assist with instructional plans, monitor behavior, and help implement IEP objectives under teacher supervision.

You will also provide basic care, administer first aid when needed, maintain records, and participate in meetings and trainings to stay aligned with student goals and safety procedures across a dynamic school

Qualifications

• Qualifying paraeducator credential or higher education minimums.
• Experience with paraeducator assessments or higher education credits.
• Certifications or apprenticeship in paraeducator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapt activities under teacher direction to enable participation.
• Assist in evaluating student progress and organizing needs.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as required.
• Support personal care needs for medical conditions.
• Attend meetings and trainings to stay informed.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents on student progress.
• Implement behavioral plans for students with disorders.
• Instruct in academic subjects, social skills, daily living.
• Maintain student records and materials.
• Monitor students across school environments.
