Seattle Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to assist in supervising, caring for, and instructing students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms. You will help implement IEP plans, monitor behavior, and communicate progress to school personnel.

The role supports various student programs and adapts activities to meet individual goals while maintaining a safe, positive learning environment throughout the school day.

Formación

• Ability to adapt classroom activities under teacher direction.
• Ability to perform basic math and organize student records.
• Ability to administer first aid and basic medical assistance when required.
• Ability to address personal care needs of students when needed.

Responsabilidades

• Adapts classroom activities to include all special education students.
• Administers tests, homework, and grades papers to assist teacher progress tracking.
• Administers first aid and medical assistance when required to ensure student safety.
• Assists students with personal care needs for daily functioning in school.
• Attends meetings and in-service presentations to gain and share information.
• Confers with teachers and parents to track student progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Directs and implements behavioral plans to support safe, consistent environments.
• Instructs students in activities to reinforce instructional objectives and remediate needs.
• Maintains instructional materials and student files for availability and reliability.
• Monitors students across various school areas to ensure safety and learning.
