Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special needs in in-district classrooms and standalone schools. You will work with a teacher to deliver individualized services, monitor student progress, and reinforce learning using SESI’s instructional model.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or college experience highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction and implement the SESI model.
• Assist the teacher with customized behavior and academic support and assessments.
• Reinforce learning with targeted tasks and one-on-one tutorials.
• Support large group activities, grading, and accommodations as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies to maintain safety.
• Help document and track student progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers.

Education
