Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), part of FullBloom, seeks an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special needs within in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will collaborate with teachers to implement SESI’s academic rotational model and PBIS framework to promote academic and social-emotional growth. The position emphasizes small group instruction, behavior support, and data-driven planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction implementing the SESI rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide behavior and academic support.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments with the teacher.
• Assist with large group activities, grading, and independent study tasks.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement crisis management techniques to maintain safety.
• Support, document, and track student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure safe movement to locations.
• Collaborate with teachers, assistants, and related service providers.
