Job summary

Qualifications

• Education/experience aligned with highly qualified requirements.
• Ability to interact with teachers, staff, students and families.
• English communication skills (oral and written) essential; Spanish a plus.
• Math basics for handling figures, percentages and data as needed.
• Reasoning abilities for written and verbal instructions and safety rules.
• Computer literacy including emails, databases, and word processing.
• Certificates or licenses as determined by the District.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in instructional setting and maintain classroom discipline.
• Support in daily student activities and testing; supervise students.
• Prepare instructional materials and manage clerical tasks for the teacher.
• Maintain records and confidentiality per policy and law.
• Assist with toileting, medical tasks, transfers, and insulin administration as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings and implement IEP modifications.
• Supervise activities in playground, cafeteria, buses, and field trips.
• Ensure safety and follow all rules and procedures.
