Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant (Program) for FAIR High to support students with emotional and behavioral disorders. You will help implement individualized lessons, promote inclusion, and assist with daily routines.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, accurate record keeping, and effective communication with students and families. This is a full-time position at FAIR High with district benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours in Education/Child Development or related field, or equivalent.
• Two years of paid experience working with children preferred.
• Passing score of 460 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to students with moderate to severe disabilities in a learning environment.
• Assists staff to maintain a safe, inclusive classroom and implement individualized lessons.
• Helps students meet therapy and education goals and promote independence.
