Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher to implement the IEPs.
• Assist students as needed to fulfill educational needs.
• Help students develop independence and personal responsibility.
• Provide lavatory assistance when necessary.
• Assist students during lunch and recreational activities.
• Assist students to and from classes and on trips.
• Maintain academic and behavioral standards set by the teacher.
• Assist in loading/unloading on buses and in active therapy programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher to implement the IEP's
• Assists students as needed to fulfill their educational needs
• Helps students develop a sense of independence and personal responsibility
• Provides lavatory assistance when necessary
• Assists students during lunch and recreational activities
• Assists students to and from classes
• Assists students on trips
• Understands and maintains the academic and behavioral standards set for the students by the certified teacher
• Assists students loading and unloading on buses
• Assists in active therapy programs
• Performs other duties as assigned

Applicants for the above positions are REQUIRED to be Highly Qualified, which is defined as: Two (2) years of college (Minimum of 48 Semester Hours, or 72 Quarter Hours), or possess an Associate's Degree, or passed the Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment Exam.

Applicants must submit a copy of their Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment Exam results, or a copy of their college transcript(s) to verify their Highly Qualified Status. Applicants must also have a valid Educational Aide Permit, or obtain one immediately upon being employed with the Canton City School District.
