SCO Family of Service is seeking an Educational Support role in New York to assist with instruction and behavior support for students with ED/ID. You will provide teacher-directed academic help, documentation, and collaboration with educators and families.

Responsibilities include managing classrooms, implementing IEP components, and supporting transitions, meals, and health education. A driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred for travel between sites.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates or Bachelors in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting students with ED and/or ID strongly preferred.
• Provide teacher-directed instructional support to individuals, small groups, and whole classes.
• Offer individualized assistance including prompting, redirection, and other instructional supports.
• Reinforce expectations, routines, and positive behavior; maintain a structured, safe classroom.
• Apply positive behavior supports and de-escalation per student plans.
• Assist with implementing IEP components and advancing goals.
• Collect and document student data, observations, and progress.
• Support school-day activities during instruction, transitions, meals, recreation, health education, and vocational activities.
• Foster independence and social-emotional development.
• Supervise to ensure student health and safety.
• Address crises calmly and follow school procedures.
• Collaborate with special and general educators, related-service providers, counselors and families.
• Demonstrate patience, flexibility, professionalism, reliability, consistency, and commitment to diverse learners.
