Minneapolis Public Schools invites applications for a Special Education Assistant (Program) [ASD] at Ella Baker PK-8. You will support students with disabilities, assist in implementing individualized lessons, and help promote independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy in a collaborative school setting.

Responsibilities include assisting staff, monitoring student progress, and supporting daily routines, with emphasis on safety, respectful behavior, and data collection to inform instruction and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 60 sem/90 quarter college credits in Education, Child Development, Behavioral Sciences or related area.
• Two years of paid experience with children; OR equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services to students with disabilities as assigned, adhering to MPS policies.
• Assist staff to facilitate educational functions and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Provide individual instruction and reinforce behavior plans; promote self-advocacy.
• Monitor student activities and maintain progress records; support daily routines.
• Communicate with parents/guardians; explain school rules.
• Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues and records.
