Job summary

Utica Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher Assistant for Tier 3 (Resource Room Program - ASD/Behavior) to support students with diverse needs. The role runs 7 hours daily (8:00 am–3:30 pm) with a flexible location based on student requirements, and work years align with the school calendar.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, implementing behavioral plans, maintaining records, and supporting inclusive classroom activities while upholding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to assist students with personal needs, including hygiene, diapering, toileting and clothing.
• Ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs.
• Maintain composure and communication during stressful situations.
• Willingness to be trained in health-related awareness and intervention.
• Willingness to be assigned to multiple sites based on student needs.
• Confidentiality and ability to stay focused during distractions.
• Wheelchair assistance may be required.
• Good attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with personal needs during the school day.
• Support the Resource Room Program for ASD/Behavior.
• Adapt to location and hour changes based on student and program needs.
• Maintain various records; parent contact may be required.
