Job summary

HAZELWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL in New Albany, Indiana, is hiring for two Special Education Aide positions. Starting immediately, these roles report to the building principal and offer benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage with sick and personal days.

The classification is Instructional Support Staff with pay grade 7 ranging from $16.05 to $17.15 per hour, depending on education and experience, and the positions are full-time.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree or two years college credit or 1,000 hours as a paraprofessional or ParaPro test.
• Physical/computer skills: ability to use internet/email, sit/stand as required, lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assists students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with teachers, staff and students.
• Coordinates instructional efforts with classroom teachers.
• Keeps students focused on tasks and reports problems to the teacher of record.
• Monitors students during non-academic activities and assists with materials.

Education
