Job summary

Sheridan County School District No. 2 seeks a positive Paraprofessional to join the Highland Park Elementary School team and assist in supporting students with disabilities in their designated educational environment.

The starting hourly rate is $19.47–$22.98, with a $1.00 increase for BA/BS, and the role reports to the building principal and/or classroom teacher. Training and ongoing CPI/AP training are expected as part of the position.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Good command of the English language.
• Ability to work well with students and staff.
• Reading, math, English knowledge relevant to subjects.
• Typing and computer skills preferred.
• Associate's degree OR pass the ParaPro exam for Title-1 positions.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning with individual students or small groups.
• Assist in devising strategies based on student needs.
• Help students master equipment or instructional materials.
• Support independent study, enrichment, and remedial work.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, play periods, and trips.
• Assist with large group activities as needed by the special education teacher.
• Support instruction in reading, writing, math and related communication.
• Monitor progress and document for the special education teacher.
