Job summary

Westfield Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Program Paraprofessional at Westfield High School in Westfield, MA. Immediate start to support teachers, students with diverse needs, and classroom routines.

You will work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning, assist with physical tasks, and help implement strategies suited to individual students. Training and supervision provided.

Qualifications

• Possession of Associates degree or higher; or 48 credit hours from higher education institution; or passage of the ParaPro or Work Keys assessment.
• Demonstrated interest in children and education.
• Emotional maturity and stability for specialized work.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical tasks and daily routines as needed.
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Help develop strategies to support student needs and abilities.
• Maintain supportive, respectful relationships with students.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, and field trips.
• Assist with cafeteria, playground, and bus loading duties.
• Support lunch, snack, and clean-up routines.
• Participate in in-service training and assigned duties.
