Westfield Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Program Paraprofessional for Westfield High School. The role provides physical and emotional support to students to meet program goals and assists with daily tasks and supervision.

Qualifications include an associate degree or 48 college credits, or ParaPro/Work Keys, plus the ability to work with staff and students. Positions require lifting, toileting, and other duties as assigned. $19–$29 per hour, full-time.

Formación

• Possession of Associates degree or higher; or 48 credit hours from higher education institution; or passage of the ParaPro or Work Keys assessment.
• Demonstrated interest in children and education.
• Evidence of the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.
• Ability to communicate and work successfully with staff and students.
• Positions may require diapering, toileting, lifting and/or feeding. Please inquire at interview.

Responsabilidades

• Assist assigned students with basic daily tasks and mobility.
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce material or skills.
• Assist teacher in devising strategies based on student needs.
• Establish supportive relationships without fostering intense emotional involvement.
• Assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Assist with lunch, snack, and clean-up routines.
• Participates in in-service training programs.
• Any other duties as assigned.
