Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with students with special needs is desirable.
• Ability to work with a diverse group and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and support strategies aligned to individual needs.
• Support classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, on-task environment.
• Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, study halls) and accompany students on field trips.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement and participation in education.
• Support students with special needs in all aspects of instruction and participate in IEP processes as needed.
